Northstar Career Academy serves juniors, seniors and young adults not only from the Academic Campus but also the Greater Richmond area. They learn the skills necessary for competitive careers through learning hands-on instruction, work-flow management and furthering those skills with work site experiences.


Northstar Career Academy serves students with a wide range of abilities, including 12 of the 13 disabilities identified by IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act).

Northstar Career Academy understands that people living with disabilities benefit from customized approaches as they work towards their goals. Because of this, we work diligently to make Northstar Career Academy accessible, with full and part-time options that can continue with public and private schools, homeschooling, college courses and jobs.

Northstar Career Academy proudly partners with public and private schools to provide technical education for their students. Northstar Career Academy also compliments a homeschool education, providing workforce education and experience.

Northstar Career Academy prepares students for college.

In addition to providing industry skills for competitive careers, Northstar Career Academy teaches students essential skills such as work-flow management, how to ask for and use accommodations, workplace social skills and independent living. All of these skills are transferrable to a post-secondary education.

Countdown to Employment

At Northstar Career Academy, we tailored our proprietary social skills program to help students learn the soft skills associated with job acquiring and job keeping. These skills are reinforced daily.
